Hard to describe problem

: We've found that trying to use the word "manuscr1pt" in the text of a post, either in all caps or lower case, causes the word to appear like this:

: manuscr1pt
: MANUscr1pt 

: It's likely that once I post this, you'll see manuscr1pt and not the totally alphabetical version I'm currently typing.  Can you explain why this happens?  Thank you!
